Washi Tape Bird House

I was out shopping for some fabric at Joanne Fabrics and Crafts this weekend, when I came across these cute little birdhouses.  I just had to buy a couple at just a buck a piece!

How could I resist covering one up in pretty Washi tape for a fun Spring project?  I couldn’t…
I stopped by Michael's close by and picked up some of this fabulous craft tape.

Washi tape has to be the most fun and versatile craft tool invention in recent times.  Decorating this bird feeder was so easy, not messy or even time consuming.

If you’d like to beautify a piece with some Washi tape, follow these quick steps:

  1. Decide how you want to arrange your tape strips {have fun!}
  2. Cut the strips in the sizes you’ll need.  I like to line them up on the table to just grab and go.
  3. Add the tape to the desired surface, and smooth it out with your fingers.  Just like you would with regular tape!
  4. Cut off any excess Washi tape.

 Talk about a simple way to add some pizzazz to some plain birdhouses! It’s incredible how many ways this fun little sticky strip can be used!

How can you use Washi Tape this Spring?

  1. Oh this is just too cute--I love the paisley tape!

  2. I've never used Washi tape - but think I'll give this a go. I see so many cute ideas. But what kind of tape do you use - is there a special kind?? Thanks for all you do!

    1. Donna, I think at the store it's just called 'craft tape', I don't use a particular brand or anything..just buy it if it's cute and on sale :)

  3. ...oh, is the tape on the back of the washi tape already?>??? duh!!!

    1. Donna, Yes it's an adhesive like regular tape, but cute! :)
